TUYO, TINAPA AND GALUNGGONG

July 20th, 2007 by davidmira

Let me tell you a story. Three
construction workers were on top of
their half-finished skyscraper.
Rrrrring!" the lunch bell sounded, and
the three men sat on a steel beam
jutting out of the 56th floor with
their lunch boxes in hand.

The first guy opens his and groans in
exasperation, "Tuyo!" There is
not a day that I don’t get tuyo for
lunch!" He turns to his buddies and
announces, "Mark my words. If I still
get tuyo tomorrow, I’m going to
throw myself from this building."

The second guy opens his lunch box and
moans, "Tinapa". Everyday, I get
tinapa!" He looks at his friends and
declares, "Believe me when I say
this. If I get tinapa tomorrow, I’m
going to jump and kil! l myself."

The third guy opens his lunch box and it
was his turn to despair.
"Galunggong" . All I get is galunggong!"
I’m telling you, if I still
get galunggong tomorrow, I’m going to
jump from this building and die."

The next day, the lunch bell rings and
all three men are again seated
on the 56th floor. The first guy opens
his lunch box and starts crying,
"Tuyoooooo!" And so he jumps and crashes
on the ground.

The second guy opens his lunch box and
wails loudly, "Tinapaaaa!" And
he also hurls himself off the building
and dies.

The third guy opens his lunch box and
screams, "Galunggonggggg! " And
so he too jumps off the building and
splatters on the ground.

Days later, during the funeral of the
three men, their three wives
embrace and weep together. The first
wife cries out, "I didn’t know my
husband didn’t like tuyo anymore! Why
didn’t he tell me? If only he
told me, I would have prepared something
else."

The second wife echoes her statement,
"Yes! If only I knew, I would
have cooked something else, not tinapa!"

The third wife, between sobs, speaks up,
"I don’t know why my husband
killed himself." The two wives look at
her curiously.
"Why?"
She went on, "Because … my husband
prepares his own lunch everyday…"

I love this crazy story because it
presents a very important truth: all
of us prepare our own lunch. If we don’t
like our jobs, if we don’t
like the state of our relationships, if!
we don’t like what’s happening
to our spiritual lives - we have no one
to blame but ourselves. Because
God has given us free will. He has given
us the power to prepare our
own lunch.

If you want to earn more and be free
from debt, if you’re sick and
tired of your bad habits, if we want to
put more joy in our marriages,
if we want to grow in our relationship
with God - then go back to your
kitchen and prepare yourself another
dish. Because you design your own future.
You create your own destiny. Ask
yourself what kind of future do you
want to have? What kind of life? What
kind of eternity? You decide.

time and love..

January 22nd, 2007 by davidmira

A boy ask God wat is the most important thing to give to someone.. God answered.. "TIME" my child . but why and not love?..

love.. you can give that, you can have that, you can share that to anybody.. but with time, you can stop it or control it,. cause you can never bring back the time that has pass by. So spend your time wisely and cherish it while you still have it.. Spend time with your love one coz, u never know when your time is over..

“im not going anywhere, as long as i have you”

Fun and harmless night
Took a turn for the worst
Chaos, traffic lights
Turned into a fight for life
Frantically trying to think fast
To put the pedal on the gas
Trying to stop what he saw coming
To keep their hearts alive and drumming
A truck slid past, it all went by so fast
Car crash
Before that moment, his girl was so happy
With the wind in her hair
In the world, not a care
Except for him of course
An end was put to that night
She shivered in fright
She had never been so scared in her life
Sirens in the distance
Parametics in sight
She kissed him on the cheek
And cried as she looked at him..
All the life sucked out of him
She was overcome and weak
After that night she`d never take anything for granted
Ever again
Spend every moment with him she can
She sobbed on her friends shoulder
As the time passed by
She got by with only scrapes
But felt as if she were hit by a boulder
She`d give her life for his
Just to know he`d live
All out of tears
And overcome by fear
As the nurse with the blue jacket, called her in
She saw him
In an awful coma
Just lying there, wrapped in tubes and on machines
She wishes it was all a dream
The nurse tells her, it`s a slim chance he will survive
She screams and insist it`s all a lie
Tightening her grip to his bedside
She began talking and talking
Even though theres no saying, if he could hear
Holding on to her pink trimmed stockings
Hoping for a miracle to appear
She sat there, pouring her heart out to him
Telling him what they`d do if he lived
They`d buy the biggest house by the shore
Not only three but four floors
With a pool so large you could swear you`re in the sea
She never gave up hope and got down on her knee
She weeped while she told him she loved him more than life itself
This night was such a living hell
She told his unconcious self, “if you love me, if you`re there, squeeze my hand”
After 5 long minutes that seemed like forever
This was a moment that no one could understand
He practically cut off her circulation with that love-binding squeeze
Her voice was keeping him alive
He opened his eyes
As the life filled back into his body
Strong and true
He whispered, “I`m not going anywhere, as long as I have you.”
